DESCRIPTION
Total Butaprem contact adhesive is intended for permanent bonding of wooden materials, plastic boards, rubber, leather, cork, felt, hard PVC, soft foams and metal. The glue joint is flexible and waterproof, therefore it guarantees a lasting bonding effect.
The surfaces to be glued must be dry, free from dust, grease and other substances that reduce the adhesion of the adhesive. Additional matting of the metal surface increases the strength of the weld.
Thoroughly spread a thin layer of glue on both surfaces to be glued with a spatula or a short brush. Pay particular attention to the edges of the glued material. Do not dilute the adhesive.
After applying the glue, leave the glued elements until the solvent evaporates. The evaporation time at room temperature (18-25 ° C) is about 10-15 minutes . After the evaporation time has elapsed, gluing is possible in no more than 60 minutes . Adequate ventilation must be provided during the activities related to gluing and evaporation of the solvent.
The signal for joining the two elements is that the top layer of the adhesive is dry to the touch. Prepare the parts intended for gluing carefully, because after the contact of both layers of glue, correction is impossible.
Press the glued elements very firmly for a few seconds. The pressing force is the decisive factor for the adhesive strength, not the pressing time. Larger surfaces, laminated boards and metals should be pressed in the press. Apply pressure from the inside to avoid air bubbles. Carefully coat with glue and press the edges of the glued surfaces. The initial adhesive strength is so great that the detail can be further processed immediately after pressing.
Full strength is achieved after 24 hours (depending on the temperature and pressure used during gluing).
